Air Pollution Specialist
 

An air pollution specialist works to ensure full compliance with air pollution regulations. These specialists may visit facilities to inspect equipment and measure emission levels, monitor ambient air quality to ensure it is safe for people to breath, or they could test vehicles to make certain the cars are not polluting beyond legal limits.

Responsibilities Often Include:
• Reviewing and issuing permits
• Testing equipment
• Monitoring air quality
• Performing inspections, audits, or investigations
• Reviewing and implementing technical standards
• Providing recommendations and technical assistance
• Issuing citations to violators
